The strange case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde

A very short study of the schizophrenia transfixing US security as reflected in the psychopathy gripping the Guardian regarding Russia

New Picture

One could be forgiven for thinking that the relationship between the US and Russia might be on the up and up after the recapture of Palmyra. Also with the increase in diplomatic rapprochement which has been happening lately between Messrs Kerry and Lavrov, leading to the opportunity of a thaw in East West relations. However the time to light a candle for peace may not have arrived.

What once appeared as relative security only a few years ago across Europe has been replaced with increasing chaos and sectarianism. Where once growing accord was, has been replaced by discord. There has been no clearer an example of this than the US intervention in Ukraine, once destined to be an East West bridge, but now a bridge too far, collapsing into a US outpost some say an imperial colony. An example of US sponsored regime change at the heart of Europe which now has resulted in the elevation of fascists in to a European government. A first since the end of WWII, all lovingly midwived by the black widow herself, Vicky “the shake and bake” Nuland.

It is in this context of the near East and the Mid-east, that the security of not just Europe, but the World hangs, managed by those who seem to have drunk the potion which haunts our most feared nightmares. Good versus evil, love versus hate descending into the politics of chaos.

If ever there was a time for leaders to show their mettle to demonstrate they were worth their salt, it is now. If a peace laureate was to earn his spurs then the opportunity beckons. But it is when evil turns out to be good and good evil we realise that our belief systems have been corrupted turned on their heads and we are being hung out to dry.

It is also, at times like these, we need a critical and impartial media to focus on what is happening in the World. To question what our so called leaders are really up to. Whatever it is they are imbibing at the Pentagon their Commander in Chief is plugged into the same happy hooker pipe. Enough to say it seems to have passed the bleary eye hacks at the Guardian by, having sold their once proud moral compass to the black suited ones. With the smashing of their hard drives, they have now totally thrown up their hands in despair and capitulated to the dark side. So much so that even Freudian Slips are creeping in when there is little possibility of double speak, when the facts outweigh the potential for spin doctoring. As the clip below illustrates from an article by their Diplomatic Editor Patrick Wintour:

[…militant engineers, sniffer dogs and “demining robots…”

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/mar/30/russia-and-us-planning-military-coordination-against-isis-in-syria

Clearly Patrick, the subs or both are so inculcated with anti Russian mimes that they can’t spot such mistakes, or maybe they inadvertently corrected military to militant without thinking. Hell it is a report about Russia for god’s sake. Let’s face it, Russia and the US planning military coordination against Isis in Syria, it doesn’t fit the narrative – what the f**k’s going on!

Well so there you have it folks, Dr Jekyll is Mr Hyde and he is shaping our media and our world into a place where only exceptional people can live. Where up is down, right is left and Barak Obama has a peace prize. To support this objective of peace the Pentagon will restore Obama’s troop cuts in Europe to address Russian aggression. A Russia that we have the word of Gen Strangelove, no Strangehate, er… Strangebreed, erm… what’s his name now… Strangebrew? The pentagon shaped NATO commander who believes Russia is evil. He knows this because the voices in his head said so…or someone did.

Oh I almost forgot, thanks to Russia for helping defeat IS in Syria. I thought I’d better say it as the Peace Laureate forgot. Or maybe he wasn’t quite himself that day…

Luke Harding’s: A Very Heavily Discounted Book

The unexceptional account of a discredited inquiry

New Picture (2)

The Guardian’s Book of the Day [here today gone tomorrow?] masquerading as a “True Crime” story, is an attempt to give the Alexander Litvinenko inquiry further credence, thereby helping keep it in the Public eye. A crime it certainly is, in journalistic terms, taking the statements of the Owen inquiry [we cannot call them facts because they are all probabilities] and trying to get us to believe it all over again is like, well, trying to make money from old rope. This leads us to think, can we believe anything anymore written by Guardian hacks? The simple answer to this question regarding the Litvinenko murder inquiry and things Russian is most definitely no. But will this book or the so call findings of the Owen inquiry, to quote the Bard, “…last out a night in Russia, When nights are longest there*”? Probably not, to use the overworked Owenesque ad verbal.

The review of the grandly entitled Luke Harding book, “A Very Expensive Poison” by Oliver Bullough – claims the book to be a definitive account of the Litvinenko murder. This is clearly another Guardian whitewash, dressing up more Russo-phobic rhetoric supporting the infamous Luke Harding and other politico spin winders who have their works showcased there. Why do I think that? Well the review in the Guardian is just so full of miss-information it clearly indicates the purpose of the book is pure propaganda too. It reveals nothing new or of interest from what is clearly a dead donkey of a story, whose sole purpose is to sell this latest Guardian/ Faber Publication.

Harding’s work has been criticised by veteran investigative journalists, such as John Pilger and Robert Parry, being the largely discredited former Guardian Moscow Bureau Chief. He was refused entry into Russia for problems with his visa documents and has mounted a personal paranoia campaign against Putin ever since. Why Putin had a vendetta against him and had had taken the trouble to have him expelled from Russia is never fully explained, especially when the Russian authorities offered him a renewed visa which he refused. Some think that this was a smokescreen for his own lack of competence or perhaps he smelled more “lucre” was to be made spinning anti-Russian works at home rather than in Russia itself. However, so the story goes in, not one, but two of his previous novels – sorry works of non-fiction, he was thrown out of Russia and exiled for his perceived critical reporting. His back catalogue clearly forms the basis of some kind of therapy to rid himself of all things Russian. In effect he’s the Elliot Higgins of the Journalist world, Higgins does the sofa inquiries fronting fake videos and blogs and Harding the books and “Pussy Riot” reviews for the Guardian.

So to the matter at hand, the Alexander Litvinenko inquiry, a story of former FSB agent who defected becoming a triple agent who died in unclear circumstances. He was known to have criminal as well as MI6/CIA links, killed in London almost a decade ago and is the subject of this latest piece of agitprop, lightly dressed up as investigative journalism. Probably, there I go again using that very malleable ad verb, Harding’s book will soon be destined for that category of books, like “50 Shade of Grey”, you wish you’d never bought, because you can’t even give it away.

At £7.99 instead of the £12.99 asking price, tells you all you need to know – that it’s already been completely discounted!

But hey you don’t need me to tell you see for yourself:

Russia has Troll Factories, the West has Strategic Communication Centres?

The World According to the Graun writes another in the series of its “Troll House” narratives. And not surprising many who believe it, are still trolling on their comment is free sections, where those that don’t believe aren’t. Unfortunately a troll is not a troll if they offer “anti-Putin abuse” and a pro Russian comment is a troll if it is critical of the not so nuanced topsy turvy world the Guardianistas like to inhabit – unchallenged.

The latest front for this jackanory story appeared in the sister of Graun, the Odserver as:

“Europe’s new cold war turns digital as Vladimir Putin expands media offensive.”

“Russia is deploying social media trolls in an attempt to effect political change, and Britain is not immune” Shock Horror!

So the self fulfilling prophecy is coming true, the comments sections have to be purged of those who offer an alternative view. Cos they’re part of a misinformation machine funded by Russia.

Meanwhile not able to maintain this garbage, clearly everyone is getting wise; I now read the Graun, not Putin, is out for your hard earned cash:

“Support Guardian journalism and our coverage of critical, under-reported stories from around the world. Become a Supporter for just $49/€49 per year.”

So this process of critical reporting of underreported stories is not extended to the critical comments made by readers.

Readers, by the way, who may expose the blatant bias and sheer propaganda laden lies and language used by some of the Graun’s impoverished hacks.

So what kind of bang do you get for your buck in the Gruan Supporters Club? Not a lot really, there’s Elliot Higgins, anyone? Or the renowned punk and plagiarist Luke Harding? Their roving sports reporters Amos and Salem’s report on the Odessa clash?

Yep and there’s more fairy soap where that came from as well. Alec Luhn’s little green men mime where Russian’s are terrorising those nice touchy, feely Ukrainian Nazis. And Shaun Walker’s in depth aversion to Russian cheese.

All of which means plenty of Splash, for your dosh, but of the whitewash variety, not the hardnosed investigative stuff. So I’d abandon the actual trolling factory and head for the real strategic information centres.

For my money I’d go to RT, Russia Insider, Moon of Alabama, Counter Punch, Consortium Press, oh and of course Off Guardian. To name but a few.

MH-17- Is the Truth Out There? Or has the US confined the real story to the X-Files?

MH-17- Is the Truth Out There?

Or has the US confined the real story to the X-Files?

Please note this is an opinion piece and not an opinion piece masquerading as a news report. You will find plenty of those in the mainstream media (MSM) intended for your general consumption

It is now more than a year since the tragic shoot down of Malayan flight MH-17. There has been immense suffering for those families involved in this incident and the great number that have lost their lives in the east of Ukraine.  Many people have since brought to bear their thoughts and opinions on this event, no more so than the US government itself who were indisputably the first to apportion blame. Though, as with the boy who cried wolf, repeated claims do not necessarily make a truth. The Guardian throughout has been constantly faithful to the Washington narrative, as in all reporting of the Ukraine since the Maidan insurrection. Off Guardian pointed out on 14th July about flight MH-17, that the Guardian’s journalists, despite copious reporting, still “stand on the sidelines” regarding balancing the facts. The most noticeable thing to date with the Malaysian flight MH-17 narrative is that the only definitive facts placed in the Public Domain have been released from sources other than the US. The fact is the Guardian’s predominant claim, that it was the separatists in the east of Ukraine backed by Russia that are to blame, is currently at odds with the available data. Unless of course they know something we don’t, in which case they would be failing in their job not to provide it, wouldn’t they? Fortunately there are a minority of journalists like Patrick Henningsen out there who are prepared to list the known facts and focus on the gaps in the data, gaps which point the finger at the US and Ukraine and not at Russia.

Pretty much most of the paid stenographers writing on this are to blame for what has become a sloppy exercise in deviant labelling. Kowtowing to their bosses editorial demands in a mass media which has been brought to heel at Washington’s command; in what has become a subterfuge of agitprop. This should act as a stark reminder to us all, as to just how in thrall to the ruling elite our so called western free media really is.

Now some might say the US has information, but no definitive information, which may well be the case. If this is so, then why will they not make it available? The only possible explanation is that it doesn’t corroborate what they have claimed. So concerned are some retired CIA staff and analysts with the lack of transparency behind the current direction of Obama’s foreign policy and the mis-informed line it is taking, regarding the handling of relations with Russia, that they have written asking for all known information of flight MH-17 to be released. The fact that this lack of transparency is a matter of national and global security is no understatement at all.

What really stands out is the omissions of key data. information which would be a real game changer. Such as the flight and cockpit recorders from MH17, which were taken to RAF Farnborough to be analysed and to date have never been made publicly available (despite the UK not being part of the official investigation). In addition to this there were the Air Traffic Control (ATC) recordings which were confiscated by the Kiev authorities and have never been released and may have been destroyed. These aspects are of huge significance, as they would no doubt clear up the basic questions about, not only what happened minutes before the crash, but also why the aircraft was made to deviate so radically from its planned flight path taking it right over the conflict zone.

If we couple with this the fact that it was Ukraine which had BUK systems and they were deployed in the vicinity at the time as well as two Ukrainian fighter jets, that were both witnessed by civilians and tracked by Russian radar, then questions appear about the current Washington driven MSM narrative. The other part of the story which gets almost no discussion is that Ukraine have veto rights on the evidence produced for the Dutch led investigation and the report. So one of the possible culprits is able to refuse the inclusion of facts they cannot or will not explain. How crazy is that? It’s like allowing the inmates to be in charge of the asylum.

There is also the case of the “Dog not barking”, as reporter Robert Parry puts it, where the US having made claims of possessing information, at the time of the tragedy, while pointing the finger at Russia and then having to go silent on it. Robert Parry cites a Pentagon briefed source as saying the intelligence goes in a different direction, or in other words does not fit the narrative which has been established. If we are to believe another story by Der Spiegel, which said the German intelligence agency, the BND, have a different take. Their conclusion is that the Russian government did not supply the Buk anti-aircraft missile suspected of the shoot down. Reporting that instead that the BND believed the rebels used a missile battery captured from Ukrainian forces. All of which leaves us with a glaring question as to what were the sanctions imposed against Russia for? The US also claims they have not done a report on the MH-17 incident as they have no new information. So if they have no new information, and what they have they refuse to release, then presumably they have no case against Russia. All they can do in this situation is pretty much what we see in the MSM. Keep up the same established story and sit on the data they have and consign the truth to the classified X files.

Of all the unusual series of events surrounding this case, the MSM and the journalists in their employ busily writing, not one has seen fit to ask this basic question. Who would stand to gain from such an incident? Well clearly Ukraine would gain from this kind of false flag operation, because it enables them to point the finger of blame at Russia and the ethnic Russians in the east of Ukraine.  In order to justify their existence, it is clear the post coup government of Ukraine needs a war and an enemy. In fact without an enemy they would no doubt cease to exist, as they basically seized power on the basis of fighting Russians and ethnically cleansing Ukraine. This plot line serves that purpose well, although it is a pitiful situation when you consider the EU and US are backing these people; and so many Ukrainian’s have lost their lives.

Who would stand to gain from such an incident? A possible scenario based on the facts available.

The US gains from this as they instigated the 22 February coup, by providing funding and moral support to the agent provocateurs of the Maidan. But when the situation in Kiev turned out to be not the cakewalk these planners had in mind, that of another colour revolution, they needed a deflection and an enemy to justify their actions. Hence placing Russia in the crosshairs became the main direction. The Ukraine coup had probably always been the intended springboard for a subsequent regime change in Moscow, but now as many of Yanukovich’s supporters rejected the Nazi complexion of the Putsch in Kiev, they realised instead of creating regime change they had created war. So unfortunately the baby was already slipping through the midwife’s hands and what the US master puppeteers thought would be an instant hit turned out to be a massive flop and a greater flop with the Russia audience.

So someone needed a change of direction from the Europeans who were not fully backing this regime change plan, plus the civil war which had erupted in the east, running the risk of drawing criticism and the wrong publicity. To get the Europeans into line and to justify the war a mind changing event was required. Unfortunately this exercise in perception management also didn’t go according to plan. The stricken aircraft was guided by Kiev ATC onto a different flight path, but the planned interception took place too late, resulting in the aircraft crashing, not in territory under US jurisdiction controlled by their proxies in Kiev, but controlled by the separatists. This left the management of the aftermath of the MH-17 catastrophe out of the control of the perpetrators and it suddenly became necessary to hastily rewrite the planned narrative and chain of events. Events including news releases implicating Russia, which had no doubt been meticulously planned, with all the relevant evidence easy to produce and control was not to be. Unfortunately as happens with the best laid plans Washington or rather Kerry went live with the planned news releases, but the situation on the ground had changed. The dog was already barking and had to be stopped.  So after claiming intelligence to prove who shot down MH-17 the US state department went eerily silent. So some seven days after the disaster and world-wide claims that Washington had evidence, they went silent on it. Instead they went to providing information taken from the internet! In other words, “Browser surveillance”, much of which had been hastily produced in Kiev. So while intelligence from the US military, which were carrying out NATO exercises in regional proximity and with one of their spy satellites, recorded as being strategically placed over Ukraine at the time, they managed to provide no intelligence from these sources.

All of this seems to make this narrative really about the strange case of the dog that lost its bark while crying wolf, a case for the US X-files of mixed metaphor and even more mixed intelligence failures.

A Perfect Circle – A Greksky Grexit is still on the cards

In a proposed $5 billion deal loan to Greece which will conclude the Blue Stream route after the collapse of the South Stream, inorder to provide gas to Europe and complete Russia’s aim to bypass Ukraine. we can see a perfect circle developing. Russia (Gazprom) gives Greece money, which Greece uses to repay the IMF, which uses the Greek money to fund a loan to Kiev, which uses the IMF loan to pay Russia (Gazprom).

The Rouble Rebounds – reasons to be cheerful

RoubleYou might be forgiven for thinking that Russia is all washed up because of the rouble crisis, but you’d be wrong.

Back in December last year, Russia was given the terror treatment about the collapse of the rouble by the Guardian and much of the western mainstream media (MSM). It was used to portray revenge on Putin for Ukraine, as the markets apparently hit back etc. etc. We were all too familiar with this tired narrative; bull horned from the west’s “free press”. N.B. I like the phrase so much these days; I’ve added it to my list of oxymorons

But with good news and optimism quickly returning in Russia and the rouble gaining rapidly in value I can’t find a good news story anywhere in the Graun. Not so strange really, I hear you say, given that its ace reporters are usually only keen to report on what they think they see happening in Russia, in order to reinforce the bad Russia, bad, bad Putin story. But I think a bit more positively, that some real observations about the good which seems to elude journalists at the Graun, should be presented as balance.

Intrigued to know if I might be wrong I did a quick search of their back pages and found nothing but, the usual negative headlines.

Headlines such as these:

“Russia downgraded to junk status for the first time in a decade” 26 Jan 2015

“Russian credit rating cut by Standard & Poor’s” Jan 18 2015

“Russia’s rouble crisis poses threat to nine countries relying on remittances” Jan 18 2015

Even god had it in for Putin and the feckless Orthodox Russian’s with:

“Russian’s mark less than merry Orthodox Christmas amid rouble fears” 7 Jan 2015.

So much affect did these kind of headlines have at the time, I recall, it prompted my sister to call me from England in a panic, worried that I was starving in Russia. I was able to lay her mind to rest by telling her that everything was fine. That it was just an act of financial terrorism launched by the likes of George Soros and that unlike the UK in 1992, Russia would be able weather it out soon. And so it appears it is doing.

Despite the crisis foisted on Russia though, we also had the shock horror of Larry Elliot to contend with, back in December last year with the economic profit of doom proclaiming, “IMF raises fears of a global crisis as Russian bank forced into bail out”, my emphasis added. As you might expect from the Graun, the article itself says something a little different and doesn’t focus on what the IMF really meant.

http://www.theguardian.com/business/2014/dec/22/trust-bank-first-financial-casualty-russia-currency-crisis

So Russia was being blamed by the IMF and Larry, even before the event, for causing the next global financial crisis!

It’s an event, which many savvy financial observers are anticipating will happen sooner rather than later, unfortunately Larry couldn’t tip rubbish, let alone give the tip off for the next financial crisis. So Larry was busy finding ways to blame Russia, while most expect the next crash to emanate from the US – again. This being the result of 3 phases of fiat funds provided via the quantitive easing of the dollar. Electronically created money that, rather than finding its way into the bank accounts of ordinary people, became yet another banksters bonanza providing the stimulus for a further bubble of US based frenzied stock market speculation.

The good news though is that the rouble has started to recover at a rate of knots, trading Friday this week at 51 roubles to the dollar. It has quite remarkably recovered 40% of its value in the last few weeks, to the chagrin of the doom merchants. But this surprising change of events has been ignored by the MSM as it again doesn’t fit their narrative. They wished for bad things to happen to Russia and it isn’t happening. The country which is really collapsing financially however is Ukraine, but again reading the Graun, you wouldn’t realise that either, would you?

Good Coup, Bad Coup

Is the Empire’s foreign policy, please excuse the pun, Coup Coup? If we take the comparison between Yemen and Ukraine it certainly looks so. Let’s take a brief look.

In January 2015 President Hadi of Yemen was overthrown by a coup spearheaded by Yemen’s Shia minority. In February 2015 he fled to the southern port city of Aden where he declared his overthrow illegal. He has since fled to Saudi Arabia, which is using violent force to restore him. Sound familiar? It should do because in February 2014 President Yanukovych was overthrown in an unconstitutional coup spearheaded by Ukraine’s western minority. In the same month he fled to Crimea where he declared his overthrow illegal and then fled to Russia.

However the Empire of Chaos has taken completely opposite positions on these almost identical coups. In Ukraine it has accused Russia of interfering in the sovereignty of an independent country. In Yemen it is backing the Saudi’s interference in an independent country as the defence of democracy to reinstate Hadi. The first is a lie about Russian interference, the second the truth about Saudi interference, but you might not think so to listen to the Washington bull-horning.

Seasoned observers will be all too familiar with this approach by the US and their single standard of supremacy over other states. As long as it’s good for US business interests that’s all the bottom line is. A coup by any other name a coloured revolution or what ever.

Don’t expect consistency. Do expect hypocrisy.
